USA Surfing’s Stand Up Paddle and prone distance and technical racers from East and West Coasts, and Hawaii will represent the U.S. in the International Surfing Association’s (ISA) World SUP Championship in Denmark September 16-22. See team roster below.
This team of dedicated and talented race athletes needs your help to support training, travel, equipment shipping, accommodations and coaching costs to speed through Copenhagen’s unique and historic canal course. The training and travel for this athletically demanding and technical sport is intense and expensive. Unlike other countries, U.S. SUP surf and SUP racing receives no government funding to train and compete on the global stage. The team relies on corporate sponsorships and donations. We are grateful to our donors and sponsors and proud to represent them on the world’s stage. With multiple medals, world titles and a Guinness World Record among them, they are frothing to take on the ISA’s premier global SUP and Paddleboard competition. Maui’s Connor Baxter is the winningest SUP racer in the world, most recently winning back-to-back Pan Am Games Gold Medals. After 24 hours of non-stop paddling at an average speed of nearly five miles per hour, Florida’s Seychelle completed a 110 mile course to set a new world record for women and broke the men’s record. Dana Point’s Soryn Preston was the youngest to ever compete in ISA’s winning a medal at just 13. With more experience and training behind her, Soryn is gunning for Gold in Denmark. SUP racers and SUP surfers from across the nation put up impressive performances at the 2024 Oceanside USA Surfing SUP Championship, qualifying them to compete against the world’s best.
