There are two distinct parts of USA Surfing’s dispute resolution process:

  1. Reporting allegations of misconduct that USA Surfing’s Ethics Committee will look into and investigate; and
  2. Filing a formal complaint that goes through the hearing process.

REPORTING ALLEGATIONS OF MISCONDUCT

There are three areas of alleged misconduct that an individual must/may report to USA Surfing:

  1. SurfSafe Violations (see the SurfSafe Policy for mandatory reporting requirements)
  2. Code of Conduct Violations
  3. Whistleblower/Retaliation Violations

You may report the allegations to USA Surfing by email, phone or through an anonymous portal:

Please report to 911 or local authorities immediately if you ever feel in danger or suspect child abuse.  

FILING A FORMAL COMPLAINT

Pursuant to the USA Surfing Complaint Resolution Policy, you may file the following types of complaints:

  1. Administrative
  2. Right to Participate
  3. Misconduct– only if USA Surfing has not found probable cause for a violation
  4. SurfSafe– only if USA Surfing’s Ethics Committee has not found probable cause for a violation

In order to initiate the hearing process, you must either submit a complaint in writing either through the form below, or through the printable form HERE and email to the Judicial Committee: judicial@usasurfing.org. USA Surfing is available to answer any questions you have about this process.

Filing a Complaint with USA Surfing

The complaint shall be set forth in clear and concise language, preferably in numbered paragraphs.   Please feel free to use any extra space or attachments to complete this complaint.
