(Oceanside, Calif.) - June 17 - Adult shortboarders were defying age and sometimes gravity in the Toyota USA Surfing Adult Shortboard Championship today in Oceanside, Calif.
After a year-long Covid hiatus, surfers ages 18- to -50-plus were frothing to get back in the jersey and just have some fun catching up on the beach.
It was a very special and emotional win for Flagler Beach’s Haley Stephens, who took time off from competing to have a baby and grieve the loss of her parents. Stephens received the Toyota Drive for Gold recognition for her skill and spirit.
